Stopped and talked with some pretty nice folks today. Some had everything they own with them.
They wanted to know what I was doing and why. They wanted to know if I had served my country. Most of them had.
They even wanted to know if they could help me.
The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
It’s the action, not the fruit of the action, that’s important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there’ll be any fruit. But that doesn’t mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.”
― Mahatma Gandhi
The next part of the Journey we will focus on is from Albuquerque to Gallop, New Mexico.
This will be fun !!
Picking up another pair of Brooks Pureconnect shoes.
Picking up 2 Goal Zero Switch 8 batteries for my solar panel.
Picking up an awesome tent.
Just looking around a little too.
Judy Marsh, a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, picked me up and delivered me to the road today. Had a great time. Saw plenty of runners and cyclists. Seeing them encouraged me.
Ran with a couple for a few miles. Feeling pretty good for an old guy. It has been fun today.
They are letting me rest here, so I can complete my Journey, fighting alzheimers diseease.
