Where am I and what am I doing? It’s Thursday

I spent the night in the forest last night. It was another pretty cool night. I was in the sleeping bag.

Had breakfast at the Lodge at Amicalola Falls State Park. It was kind of healthy.

Then I hit the road and the stair system and the trails. Feeling strong !! Realizing I need to start some pretty intense training.

I had a good conversation with an Alzheimers Association staff member from the Atlanta Chapter. She was explaining to me some of the work advocates perform.

Where am I and what am I doing

At Amicalola Falls State Park today. Up the very steep paved road 6 times today. Quite a few up and downs on the stairs. I ran a pretty good bit on the East Ridge Trail today. I’m feeling pretty good.

I had a conversation about my trip across America with Susan Riblet.

Spoke with some staff members of the Alzheimers Association.

I visited with Tammy Baker at the Gilmer County Nursing Home. She loaned me a book about Teepa Snow.

I met with Whitney Crouch. She is a journalist with the Times Courier newspaper in Ellijay, Georgia.

I spoke a few minutes with Shirley Crouch, from North Georgia mountain Outfitters. I wanted her opinion on a couple of things concerning voter interest in alzheimers disease.

Most lawmakers do what their constituents want. Lawmakers want to be reelected. I imagine most of them think they are the best one for the job. Also, they are put in office by their constituency to represent “the constituency”

We have to get to the voters also, not just the lawmakers.

The voters elect the lawmakers, the lawmakers write legislation, and laws that help in the fight against alzheimers disease.

Please look at this, sent to me by Dr. Steve Barger.

Where am I and what am I doing?

In Holly Springs and trying to learn a lot about managing my resources. No running today. I did some light weight exercise. I feel like I want to do some more exciting stuff like the stairs this last Saturday.

Making some phone calls and trying to learn about the political process so I will know how to possibly help in that area.
