Some ways to get respite help

  1. Professional entities (you pay)
  2. Family 
  3. Neighbors 
  4. Friends
  5. Church ministries 
  6. Volunteer organizations 
  7. Some Meals on Wheels programs provide outreach services that pairs a volunteer with a senior
  8. Some local schools do community outreach (high school and/or college)
  9. If the patient is a veteran contact the VA. 855.260.3274

    You may create interest in a church or school to provide such help. 

    The Alzheimer’s Association can be of great benefit. Call 1.800.272.3900 Anytime. They may be able to help you get a program started. The Alzheimer’s Association may have scholarships available to pay or help pay for paid services. 

    I visited churches on my trip across America that had 1 day a week, for eight hours, that free care and meals were provided. CNA’s, nurses and doctors even helped.
