Jacksonville University – Inspiring

The 1969 – 1970 Dolphins went 27 – 2 and ended up playing UCLA for the national championship. The school had an attendance of approximately 2000 students and that is the smallest school to ever play in the final game of the NCAA championship.

This team believed in themselves. Two of their players visited my high school, because they cared. They were 7 footers, Artis Gilmore and Pembrook Burrows.

Those were good times. I was in the Mediterranean Ocean at the time, on an aircraft carrier. My wife sent me clippings of every game. Yep, those were good times.

Being a caregiver is good times too, just different. Mom is my responsibility.
