What does love mean?

I spoke with a young lady that spent a few years with UNICEF. Here are some of her thoughts.

  • To a starving child, love is the giving of food to that child
  • To a child dying of thirst, love is the giving of water to that child.
  • To a freezing child, love is the giving of blankets or shelter to that child.
  • To an extremely sick child, love is the giving of medication to that child.

Back to my thoughts  . . . . .

I don’t know whether this story is true or not. I heard of a place in Africa where children were starving to death on a daily basis. One day two big trucks pulled up. The aid workers got out, they each had huge smiles, great tonality, awesome body language and they proceeded to open the back doors and hand out Bibles. Nobody was interested.

Folks that work near lots of suffering seem to write and talk about love needing definition.
