I’ve read a few articles about people becoming very purpose-driven because they witness the results of alzheimer’s disease on a regular basis. They begin to help in some way. But maybe later, for whatever reason, they are no longer subjected to the situation, or as much. Some of these folks admit their intensity drops. Getting in the trenches on a regular basis may help maintain their sense of urgency.
