Mark shared the “Story of the Antelope” with me a few years back.
The antelope are in the meadow, old ones, young ones, sick and healthy ones. The grass is tall and has a good taste. A breeze is blowing. Life is good. A mountain lion burst onto the scene and causes havoc. He picks his prey and drags it away. The antelope, understanding their situation, immediately go back to Life is good. They don’t dwell on it. They get right back up and go again. They expect both good times and bad times. They are not surprised by either.
Today, I found myself complaining to Mark. He was gracious. I later realized I was a whining antelope.
