For a long time, neuroscientists have known that folks with 2 copies of the gene called apolipoprotein E4 (ApoE4) are more likely to have Alzheimer’s by age 65, than the rest of the population. Now. neuroscientists at the Salk Institute have identified a connection between ApoE4 and the protein build-up associated with Alzheimer’s that may provide the possible biochemical explanation for how the extra ApoE4 may cause the disease.
I was asked if I wished to examine my situation with the gene. Another post for another time.
