What do the different colors represent at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s?

At the beginning of the Walk, each participant holds high a Promise Flower based on the reason for their involvement:

: I have Alzheimer’s.

Purple: I have lost someone to Alzheimer’s disease.

Yellow: I am supporting or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.

Orange: I support the cause and a vision of a world. without Alzheimer’s.

The four different flower colors represented not only the diverse reasons for walking, but also the promises the walkers came together to fulfill. Promises to HONOR, to REMEMBER, to CARE, and to FIGHT.When walkers were asked to raise their flower, color by color, reason by reason, the energy spreads.
