Some of those stays were for two nights. I saw hundreds of Alzheimer’s patients and heard the stories of many of them. Before these visits, I had never spent much time with the elderly. This was a wake-up call. Alzheimer’s is devastating and growing old can sure be tough at times, even without dementia. I’m glad I went.
The hurricane in Texas left a lot of folks displaced, including some residents of senior care facilities. Residents of the flooded La Vita Bellamy nursing home in Dickinson, TX were rescued yesterday after their plight became known nationwide via social media. They are safe, dry, and warm today. They were relocated to a nursing facility in nearby Alvin, Texas.
