Pfizer and the NIH

It seems the lack of funding from the NIH has hurt us again. Pfizer is closing down there Alzheimer’s research operations .

Pharmaceuticals depend a lot on papers published by everyone, including government funded research. They need baseline research to be able to move forward and find treatments and cures.

There’s been some increase in the last few years, but it seems like we might have a long ways to go. (NIH dollars)

It’s kind of scary to think of how long it might take to get papers published that could help pharmaceutical companies or others know which paths seem best.

Taking into account all the information being disseminated about the numbers of people alzheimer’s will affect, and the cost, I do not understand the ongoing struggle for research dollars.

This is my humble opinion.

P.S.     I’m Grateful to the pharmaceutical companies that are continuing on.
