between Muscogee and Tulsa

In 2013 I was on a not much used side road heading to Tulsa. I’ll never forget the wind, no let up for several hours, open range, rare to see a home or building. It just wore me down after about 25 miles. I wanted to find a way to get out of it for just a few minutes. I turned down a dirt road after crossing train tracks and left the stroller on the road, walked into a small ditch to see if I could sit down and get away from the wind. A wind gust flipped the stroller on its side, like it was nothing, and the ditch provided no relief to me. It was a long hard day, which now means it was a great day, a day to really experience life, to be forced to live in the moment.
